FAQ Camera Motion Detector

How does the Camera Motion Detector work?

They’re used to verify intrusions or smoke incidents. If your alarm is activated, the Camera Motion Detector will sense movement and will take an image of the incident and send it to our Alarm Receiving Centre for immediate response. If needed, we’ll dispatch the emergency services.

Is the Camera Motion Detector always on?

At PhoneWatch we take your privacy seriously. The Camera Motion Detector will only take images when your alarm is activated.

How long are the Camera Motion Detector images stored for?

We store images for 30 days and then they are deleted.

Will the Camera Motion Detector recognise pets?

Our security cameras and motion detectors are smart enough to detect people and ignore pets. Our technology uses a precision human-form detection algorithm to differentiate between humans and pets, so if the alarm goes off, you can be confident it's real.

Can I view my home through the Camera Motion Detector via the app?

Yes, when your alarm is fully armed, you can take images of areas where Camera Motion Detectors are placed from the app.

What’s the difference between a Motion Detector and a Camera Motion Detector?

The Motion Detector recognises movement in the area of your home that it’s located in, but it doesn’t have a camera. So, it doesn’t take images of an alarm incident. It does still trigger the alarm and notifies our Alarm Receiving Centre to respond.
